Since this blog started two weeks ago, I’ve pulled four themes from Peter Kim’s “Social Media Predictions in 2009″ and tried to make it relevant for the book industry.
To sum up:
- Social media = Relationships
- Quality > Quantity
- Strategically use online marketing as part of a greater publicity campaign
- Measurements are important to track what works and what doesn’t but don’t necessarily write off something new if there are no stats to back it up.
I look forward to seeing more innovative ideas to promote books and authors in 2009.
