2009Happy New Year!
And Welcome to PoD!

What better way to start off the new year than with some social media predictions for 2009? Peter Kim spoke with leading social media gurus to get their thoughts on what 2009 will bring us. You can download the pdf on his blog, or add your two cents on Slinkset by voting for your favorite predictions and submitting your own.

Someone once told me that they believed the reason why the book industry was so slow to embrace new social media technology was because many of them weren’t applicable to books. But since when does a company survive by ignoring who their customers are? Marketing 101 is all about persuasion, and you can’t persuade without finding the proper communication channel. If the majority of consumers are becoming more social media savvy, a book publicist needs to be familiar with how social media can reach their target audience.

The next few posts will analyze Peter Kim’s social media predictions and what book publicists can do to take advantage of upcoming trends.

Again, welcome to PoD! I hope you find this blog useful.
